about ☄✶・∙•
Gailla creates golden folk-pop songs that tell joyful, rousing stories of climate, community and cycles. Born of poisoned river water bodies and languid suburban forests, her songs make the political truly personal.
Her debut EP 'Over The Earth, Under', released in 2024, explores themes connected to that river, Deep Ecology and activism. This EP received airplay across FBi radio, 4ZZZ, 2SER, 3CR, Alive 90.5, 2RRR and has been performed at folk festivals across the country. In 2023, she embarked on her Public Transport Tour, committing to only touring via public transport. This in turn saw her become an ambassador for Green Music Australia and attend their Artist Leadership Retreat in 2024. Her song ‘Running On Our Own’ was selected as a finalist in the 2025 Environmental Music Prize.
With her band of clarinet, saxophone, keys, drums, violin and more, she has performed across the country at festivals such as Woodford Folk Festival, Cygnet Folk Festival, Top Half Folk Festival, Bundanoon Folk Festival, St Albans Folk Festival and more.
Through soaring melodies, driving rhythms and magnetic lyrics, be invited to dig deep through our past and dive deeper into our future with inspired and hopeful hearts and ears.
”With gorgeous musical arrangement, poignant and sweet lyrics, and a concept that ties everything together, Gailla’s introduction to the recording music scene is something to be paying attention to”
